My first Weigh in - May 19th
I am starting this blog a little bit late. I've been on the program for over six weeks. I wish I had thought to start this sooner, but I will try to go week by week so far. I had a Groupon to go into the Medi Weight Loss Clinics and I decided to go ahead and give it a shot. I had lost 12 lbs on my own over many months but felt like I was just stuck. My mother was just told she had Type 2 Diabetes and I knew with my weight and BMI I wasn't far behind her and I didn't want to have to deal with that and the whole other host of problems you deal with when you are overweight. Plus I wanted to be able to easily play with my children and run around. I went into the clinic on May 19th for my first weigh in. I was 179 lbs. 44.8% of me was fat and my BMI was 31.4 putting me into the obese category. They also took a waist measurement and that was *gasp* 44 inches! That made me a whole 10 inches bigger around then my husband. Now I realize I've had babies back to back and no time to recover or lose any weight , but still this was just awful. They took blood for blood tests which I didn't get until the next week. I started on week 1 of the medi program. I was to eat only protein (eggs, beef, turkey, ham, fish, shrimp, etc) and only 500 to 600 calories worth of it. They also wanted me to drink close to a gallon of water a day and prescribed some appetite suppressants, started me on a vitamin, a fatburner, and a colon cleanser and I got b6/b1 and b12 injections. Off I went to begin my Medi journey to become healthier.
